Here I was trying to take a photo of Cindy with her tongue showing for Cee’s Black & White Challenge but every time she did I was too slow. She looks quite mean in this one but she was in a perfectly happy mood.
I was filling in a rainy Sunday by taking some doll photos and somehow the shutter went off while I was still repositioning the doll.
On Friday my garden guys came to prune the apple tree and after they left I went out to take some photos of it as I do every year. The sun was quite bright and concentrating on the tree I entirely failed to notice that Cindy had more pressing business on her mind. Oh well at least it gave me a bad photo Monday shot.
The other night I was invited to visit friends to see their Christmas lights so naturally I wanted to take some pictures. I have not photographed anything like this before and it was something of a learning experience. I learned that using flash would wash out the lighting effects in some cases but that not using it would not guarantee a good result.
As it is summer here it is daylight until nearly nine at night so we had to wait quite some time till it was dark enough to see the lights properly. Unfortunately for me I don’t see very well in the dark so I had to be very careful walking around the perimeter of the display. I also found it hard to see the controls of my camera in the dark. Despite all this I did get a few pictures I liked. This is one that I didn’t like so much and it would have been deleted but for Bad Photo Monday.
I was having a doll photo session today and trying out a new location in front of a gold curtain in the computer room. Most photos went well as I posed the dolls on the window frame but for a couple I put them on top of the printer. The printer is perfectly level but as I’m not keen on getting down on my knees so much now I bent down a bit to take them. I sometimes have a bit of a problem with holding the camera straight and this position made that problem much worse. I was pretty annoyed as correcting the problem in the photo editor would have meant Penny lost her feet which would also spoil the picture. I might have to just do something arty with it.
For those who want to know Penny is a Barbie friend called Summer from the Fashion Fever era 2004-2007.
The larger group you get together for a photo the more chances that at the crucial moment someone will do something to mess it up. Even the dolls don’t always cooperate.
What’s wrong with this picture? What’s right with it! I was looking for something for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge that had the letter L in the name so I thought “I know, my tablet.” However the flash reflected badly on the screen which was dirty and it is slightly out of focus as well. I was about to delete it as I do all awful photos and then I thought, “No, better keep it for Monday. Then I will delete it.” I have too.
