For this week’s challenge Dan has asked for pictures in which green is the dominant colour. I did not intend for this post to be so heavily transport oriented but what can I say? I love trains and traction engines . However, I also love birds and cricket.
Green Rosellas are frequent garden visitors. This one loved the berries on this bush that used to be in the back garden in Geeveston.
The Puffing Billy railway is in Belgrave, Victoria. I’ve visited it several times. The last time was in 2017 when I saw these two locomotives.
This ex Australian National Railways diesel is owned by a Don River Railway member. I’m very familiar with the 830 class diesels as they were originally from the South Australian Railways and were used for freight trains. When AN took over both the South Australian and Tasmanian state railway systems some of them were transferred here.
This Robey steam tractor was operated by the Hobart City Council for years. It always used to appear in the Hobart Christmas Parade which is where I photographed it.
When I lived in southern Tasmania I often used to attend cricket matches at Bellerive Oval. Although I went to watch the match and support my team I really enjoyed taking photos of the players as well. Not selfies as everyone does now. I preferred to take photos of the action or of individual players that were unposed. This is quite an old one from 2010. A Test Match against Pakistan.

Love the Robey Steam Tractor
