Truthful Tuesday is a prompt created by PC Guy IV and currently hosted by Di of Pensitivity101. Here is this week’s question.
Would you like to go up in space?
I’ve never had a strong desire to go into space. At this stage of our space development I know that civilians can go to space to work but we are not quite to the point where space is a tourist destination. I believe that some people have already reserved places on the first commercial passenger space flights even though we don’t know when those will be.
Of course it would be amazing to see the Earth from space. I think that would be my main reason for going if I did want to go (and was a multi-millionaire). I am not mad keen to see Mars or the Moon. It’s not as if we lived in the science fiction world which is full of interesting and beautiful planets and space stations.
Would I want to visit space if I lived in say, the Star Trek universe? Well, maybe then I’d take a holiday in space the way I’d go on a cruise. Most of the space ships we see in science fiction are quite utilitarian vessels though. No luxury cruise space ships, except for the Titanic in the Doctor Who episode “Voyage of the Damned”. That’s the one that nearly crashed into Buckingham Palace. I don’t think I’d have cared to be on that voyage.
Thanks for posting Vanda. The jury’s out for me as the training puts me off as well as loads of other things. However, a Holodeck could be fun.
