Di is our host for Share Your World every Monday.
Here are this week’s questions:
Growing up, were you closer to your mother or father, or was it a balance of both depending on the circumstances?
I was closer to my mother.
What was your favourite toy as a child, and do you still have it?
I do have a few of my favourite childhood toys, my baby doll Theresa, my walking doll Christine and my Sindy doll and a couple of other things. I don’t have my teddy bear, James, any more. I gave him away when I was a teenager. I kind of wish I hadn’t. I don’t have my Hornby train set or my childhood dolls house either but Naomi did find replacements for them which are in our toy collection.
Did you have any secrets?
I probably did but I don’t remember them now.
What did you want to be when you grew up, and are you anywhere close?
I never had the least idea what I wanted to be as a child, right up until I left school at fifteen I still didn’t know. What I did know was what I wanted to do. I wanted to travel. I have done some travelling and hope to do a bit more before I get too old and infirm.
Gratitude:
I just celebrated my birthday, yes, another one. I’m grateful to all the people I know who left me birthday greetings on my Facebook page and the couple of people who sent actual birthday cards.
Happy belated birthday Vanda.
Oh, lucky you having a train set! I always wanted one, but never got it. Hubby bought me one for Christmas 2019 and we get it out every year, though 2022 we didn’t in case it confused the dog!
Thanks for joining in this week.

We were lucky that my parents thought it was OK for girls to play with train sets and Matchbox cars.

Thanks Marilyn. With Naomi away I didn’t make too much of it this year.

A belated Happy Birthday Vanda. I had a sneaky suspicion you would still have some childhood toys being the collector that you are. Theresa is beautiful. My brothers had trainsets and it was fun playing with them as well as the dinky cars.
