Every Sunday Rory of Earthly Comforts provides 9 questions for us to answer if we wish. Here are this weeks.
You have awoken to a new day after a restless night filled with strange dreams and have discovered a dead person sitting on your toilet. They are a stranger to you. What do you do?
I shut the door. Then I go downstairs to use the other toilet because I have to do that when I get up. Then I call the police.
Are you a hat-wearing person, and if you are, which style do you favour?
I like some hat styles but don’t really like wearing hats. They make my head hot. However, sometimes it’s necessary. If I’m going to be out in the hot sun all day, like when I used to go to the cricket, I wear a sunhat with a brim. I prefer fabric rather than straw so I can fold it and put it away when I don’t need it. Sometimes, when I lived in the Huon Valley where it can be cold in winter, I might wear a knitted beanie. You can lose up to 10% of your body heat through your head. When I was younger I did sometimes wear a beret. If I was a hat person I’d love to wear an Akubra hat.
How many posts do you create and publish each week to your blog?
On this blog it varies a bit. I join in several challenges (like this one) so it is usually between three and five, sometimes more, sometimes less. On the doll blog it’s usually one but sometimes I do more.
How often do you talk to strangers?
Pretty often. My volunteer job is at the visitor centre in Wynyard so I talk to strangers every Thursday. I don’t actually know many local people so I probably talk to more strangers than people that I know.
How many tee shirts do you own?
Are we talking about short or long sleeved tee-shirts? I probably have half a dozen or more of each. That sounds a lot but largely because I rarely throw the old ones away. I wear those around the house and the better ones when I’m going anywhere. The short sleeved ones are only for summer. I mostly wear my 3/4 or long sleeved ones. I live in tee-shirts. I don’t wear blouses.
Do you or have you ever ironed socks? If so, why?
Why on earth would you iron a sock?
Do you spend too much time online, and would you know if you were spending too much time online?
Yes, I do and I know I do but I can’t help myself.
Does your family or any of your real-life friends read your blog, and perhaps more importantly, do you let them, or do you want them to?
Yes, I know that some family members and friends do read this blog regularly. It is entirely up to them. I would never tell them not to, nor would I encourage them to read it. If they read it and like it that’s great. If they don’t like it that’s OK as long as they don’t tell me they hate it 🙂
What do you think the secret is to living a happier life?
Make the most of what you have. Don’t be a hater and don’t associate with haters who will bring you down. Surround yourself with the things and people that you love.
Q1- stranger on toilet – well knowing myself id probably scream instantly and pee my pants 😀 if I was still half asleep I’d say can u hurry I have to go 🤣 then use my other restroom and after finished grab my club or anything and go back to restroom and if there still there give them 10 seconds before I attack and then call authorities

It’s a brown wicker with pink ribbons in a bow so chic and classy I keep on my wall to dream of a time I go somewhere to wear my hats and talk with like-minded individuals

I’d call 911 before peeing. I’ve never ironed sock. I’m curious, what material were these socks made of? Wear hats but take them off because my head gets hot, and I have thin hair.

I have never ironed a sock. I can’t imagine why you would need to iron a knitted sock.

Q4- talk to strangers – more often then I think I’m supposed to 🤔😀🌹 but I just love getting to know others and I am lonely ALOT. Just my kiddos and I which I’m truly blessed but as adults we do crave attention from other individuals from other adults. I found a sense of beauty behind taking to those of the street hearing there stories and realizing everyone needs someone to listen even if it is just for a short few minutes. As I grown up lately I see that I always need to use caution but I do believe I’ll always hd my heart open to those who need a shoulder to lean on by listening.

Q7- online too much- family friends reading post or blogs- I’m not online to much more then usually last few weeks so many beautiful words of love and encouragement it’s kinda been my happy place when I’m resting in bed. I’ve been not feeling well last couple days so bed rest for this weekend. As much as possible with other kiddos. I do not watch TV much matter of fact I prefer books, imagation play for children or schooling. My mind is always in creation mode so I get lost during shows or movies thinking of ways I could do something similar I guess. I believe it’s important to some to watch news. To be informed I choose to focus on positive vibes and put all my faith in the Lord. Trust in making moments
Q8- No not at all. I believe family is the most cherished gift u can have and to always be honest with them. Weather it be my own or my husband’s. So I would encourage them to read and understand my thought and feelings also my work

Q9-❤️ secret to a happy life- well that’s so easy is love, honesty, faith, family, hard work and laughter staying true to yourself but also going with gut instinct when things don’t feel right. Protecting the people we love at all cost and keeping our word even when we may not understand completely. Giving everything u can cause others have it worst. Living on a promise that love will finde when the time is right and I am in a place to be found 😀

Interesting answers Vanda and a great read too 🙂 Totally spot on answers for life happiness, l agree, offload the negativity in our lives and fill with positives 🙂
There used to be a time when l ironed everything within an inch of its life – work l had to, well apart from socks, not once. These days it’s now been years since l last ironed anything, my life simply doesn’t require it 🙂

I ironed two tee shirts yesterday because they were too wrinkly to wear. Normally I’ll wait till I have a pile of things that really need it.
