I have a few favourite TV shows and favourite movies that I’ve watched multiple times over the years. “The West Wing” is one of my all time favourite TV series and I have watched the entire series at least three times over but there are particular favourite episodes that I’ve watched more than five times. The same goes for the British comedy show “Yes Minister” and it’s sequel “Yes Prime Minister”. I’ve read the books multiple times too.

I first saw “Star Trek”, the original series, when I was about ten years old so you can be sure that I ‘ve watched those three series more than five times since then. Also” Star Trek Next Generation” and the movies from those two series have been viewed multiple times. Another favourite in the SF genre is “Doctor Who”. I’ve probably watched many episodes of both “classic” and modern era “Doctor Who ” more than five times.

I don’t watch a lot of new shows but in recent times I fell in love with the British series “Detectorists” and I’m sure that I’ve watched the first two series five times by now. I know I have watched “The Good Place” that many times as well.

There are a few movies that I really love and have watched over and over. One is “The Blues Brothers”. I never get tired of that. Another is the Australian film “The Dish”. starring Sam Neill. A couple of other Australian films I’ve watched a few times are “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” and “Muriel’s Wedding”. An all time favourite is “The Big Chill” because I loved the soundtrack.

Finally, I can’t finish without mentioning M*A*S*H. That show ran for ten years and there were times when local TV stations would show two episodes a night, five nights a week. I must have seen them all at least five times each.

I was born in England in 1957 and lived there until our family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband, David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. In 2015 David became ill and passed away in October of that year. I currently co-write two blogs on WordPress.com with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania. In November 2019 I began a new life in the house that Naomi and I intend to make our retirement home at Sisters Beach in Tasmania's northwest. Currently we have five pets between us. Naomi's two dogs Toby and Teddy and cats, Tigerwoods and Panther and my cat Polly. My dog Cindy passed away aged 16 in April 2022.
