Can you believe the first month of 2023 is almost gone. It is time for Share Your World with our host Di once again. With Valentine’s Day on the horizon some people’s thoughts turn to romance.

Here are this week’s questions:
1. Do you consider yourself to be romantic?
No, I’m not really romantic. That’s not to say that I don’t occasionally enjoy a romantic book or movie and of course I liked getting flowers or chocolates; but I’m not into mushy talk, pet names and all that sort of thing. The only pet names I use are for pets.
2. Do you send cards on Valentine’s Day?
No. I used to sometimes send them for fun to workmates and used to get one for David but these days not at all.
3. Would you spend a considerable amount of money on a single red rose for your beloved?
If I were buying David a Valentine’s Day gift, and we didn’t really do Valentine’s Day, but if I did I would have bought him something that he would enjoy more than a rose. A bottle of his favourite rum, a book or some other thing that he would like.
4. What is your idea of a romantic evening?
The stereotypical idea of dinner at a good restaurant and maybe a walk afterwards is nice. I don’t think that has to be just for special occasions though.
This question reminds me of a time when we were visiting a friend in Melbourne and she decided that she wanted to give David and I a romantic evening together. I appreciated the thought but I felt so uncomfortable as if we were expected to start kissing and cuddling on the spot. She was quite puzzled and disappointed that we didn’t.
Gratitude:
My unromantic thing to be grateful for this week is clean water. Sisters Beach doesn’t have town water, so we all have rainwater tanks. Today our three tanks were all cleaned which should significantly improve the quality of the water we drink.
I totally get your point. And I’d also get my husband something practical.

Thanks for joining in Vanda. We don’t ‘do romance’ but then Hubby will buy me flowers simply because he thought I’d like some. I used to do a special meal at home, but sadly there is now so much Hubby can’t tolerate, it’s more or less a normal day, though maybe a special dessert.

Clean water is definitely more important than Romance 🙂
