Share Your World 2023: 16 January

Di aka Pensitivity101is our host for Share Your World every week. Here are this week’s questions:

What is the most comfortable vehicle you have even ridden in or driven?

I think that honour would have to go to Naomi’s Chrysler 300C which is by far the most luxurious car I’ve ever ridden in.

    Chrysler 300C

What is the most uncomfortable vehicle you have even ridden in or driven?

I think planes are amongst the most uncomfortable vehicles you can travel on. I once had to fly from Adelaide to Melbourne in a middle seat sandwiched between David and a stranger. I could not even move my arms.

Have you ever ridden a horse (or a donkey at the seaside)?

Once. We used to go to Clacton on Sea every summer to visit our maternal grandparents. I always loved to see the donkeys but I can only remember going for a ride once. I think mum couldn’t afford to do it more often or maybe I was too young.

If you could have one of these as a pet, which would it be and why?
      Black panther, cheetah, leopard, lynx

We have a black panther! But she is a regular domestic pussycat. I don’t think big cats should be kept as pets though so I wouldn’t choose any of those listed.

      Gratitude

Di posted this meme which I really like. I do think it is important to have someone you can be silly with. Naomi and I can be very silly with each other. We have our inside jokes and things that we laugh at that other people just wouldn’t get. I’m grateful for having one person that I can do that with.

I was born in England in 1957 and lived there until our family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband, David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. In 2015 David became ill and passed away in October of that year. I currently co-write two blogs on WordPress.com with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania. In November 2019 I began a new life in the house that Naomi and I intend to make our retirement home at Sisters Beach in Tasmania's northwest. Currently we have five pets between us. Naomi's two dogs Toby and Teddy and cats, Tigerwoods and Panther and my cat Polly. My dog Cindy passed away aged 16 in April 2022.

      1. Thanks for sharing your world Vanda. I agree with you about big cats not being pets, but my boss of yesteryear and I always wanted to walk down the High Street with one of us holding a cheetah and the other a black panther on gold chains. Love your kitty.
