Truthful Tuesday: 20 December

Di is our host for this challenge originally created by PCGuyIV. I am going to be very curious to read the responses for this week’s Truthful Tuesday prompt. Will anyone respond to a challenge prompt about blogging challenges to say they don’t like doing them?

The question this week is:

Do you enjoy taking part in other bloggers challenges?
Do you prefer a picture or word/sentence/question prompt?

Taking part in blogging challenges is the mainstay of my blogging week. Now that I don’t go out so much having these challenges and prompts really helps me to find something to write about. I don’t know what I’d do without them if I’m honest. I don’t participate in a lot but there are half a dozen or so that I always try to do.

I like both the written word and photo challenges. The photo challenges give me an opportunity to share new and old photos and I think that I have learned a lot from them too. I photograph things now that I never would have thought of photographing before I started doing photographic challenges. Cee’s Photos Challenges were some of the first blogging challenges I did and I still do at least a couple of them every week.

I enjoy Q&A prompts like Share Your World, Fandango’s Provocative Question, Blogging Insights and Questions Over Coffee as well as this one of course. Throwback Thursday and similar nostalgia prompts are a lot of fun to do too. Occasionally I might skip a prompt if I don’t want to answer the questions but usually I will have a stab at one every day. I do one word prompts a little less often. I can’t always be bothered if it’s a word I’m not familiar with but at other times the RDP word prompt will be one that sets me off on a train of thought that leads to a new post.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those bloggers who do host challenges every week. It is a big commitment and must take up a lot of your time. I appreciate it very much. Thank you.

I was born in England in 1957 and lived there until our family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband, David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. In 2015 David became ill and passed away in October of that year. I currently co-write two blogs on WordPress.com with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania. In November 2019 I began a new life in the house that Naomi and I intend to make our retirement home at Sisters Beach in Tasmania's northwest. Currently we have five pets between us. Naomi's two dogs Toby and Teddy and cats, Tigerwoods and Panther and my cat Polly. My dog Cindy passed away aged 16 in April 2022.
