This week Dr Tanya of Salted Caramel asks for our opinions of the following quote.
” A writer who waits for ideal conditions under which to work will die without putting a word to paper.”E.B.White
I don’t think of myself as a “real” writer. I don’t write fiction, poetry or non fiction articles unless you count blog posts. I think if you are writing for a living you probably need at least some time to work uninterrupted but other than that you have to work even if the conditions are less than ideal.
I would have to agree with the quote to some extent though because if you are a bit of a procrastinator like me it’s too easy to say it’s too cold, too hot or too noisy. It’s too late to start because it will soon be time to get dinner ready; I’m too tired or I’ll start after I’ve made a hot drink. This happens when I’m dry of ideas for something worthwhile to say.
Sometimes I have to tell myself to just get on with it because posts won’t write themselves. But then there are the other days when I barely even stop for lunch because I am so involved with what I’m doing. I do love to blog but sometimes I’m just lazy.
