It’s become a bit of a tradition to write a post on the anniversary of me starting this blog. I think I only missed one in nine years of blogging. Nine years! That’s quite a long time, and I was worried I couldn’t keep it up.
I just read one of my early posts from June 2013, it was about reality TV shows which I hated then and still hate now. I bet hardly anyone read it because in the first month of this blog I don’t think my views even got into double figures.
These days my constant gripe is finding the time to sit down and write a post. Even the challenges I enjoy doing every week have to be squeezed in. Last year I wrote that I couldn’t promise to post more often. I would really like to. I enjoyed our outings to different places and events during the summer which gave me the opportunity to share a bit more of Tasmania with you. That is still my favourite part of blogging, visiting an interesting place and writing about it. I don’t think that those are the posts that necessarily get the most views but they are the most fun to write.
As regular readers will know my dog, Cindy, passed away at Easter. I had decided that as long as I still had her I would not undertake any overnight trips away from home. She fretted badly whenever I was not there. Now that she is gone, I may do that in the coming months. I haven’t been back to the Huon Valley since I left there in 2019, nor have I been interstate. I still have the urge to travel and see new places as well as old ones.
WordPress of course has continued to bug hobby bloggers like me, most recently with changes to their pricing system. I was lucky to have been tipped off in time to secure another year on my current plan but next year I will have to move to a new one which will cost more unless, and this is entirely possible, WP changes things again before next April. I will do it because I can’t imagine not blogging and I don’t really want to start again with a new blogging platform. I’ve read a lot of posts from other bloggers about what is available and not one of them sounds better than what I have now. Above all I really don’t want to move away from the WP blogging community because you are the ones that make this worthwhile for me.
With that, I just have to say thank you once again to all the people who follow this blog, especially to those of you who have been here since the early days and actually read my posts.
Now, on to Blogiversary #10
