Advice Message has been downgraded to no alert. Fire Crews remain in the area, working to contain the fire by extinguishing hotspots.

Good news today. Our fire has been downgraded to “No Alert”. It is still going but is listed as being controlled. I can only find one of the three locations listed now. There are still several choppers, tankers and crews working on the hot spots. It’s very windy today so they need to be sure those are mopped up.
I probably won’t do another update about this unless something changes drastically. One “glass half full” kind of local posted on the Sisters Beach Facebook page “at least we have a good fire break now”. It’s only the start of the fire season. There is a long way to go.
Good news Vanda.

That is music to my ears. I like how you look at this as having a good fire break for the season. 😀 😀

Well someone else commented that but it is true. Better still the local wildlife carer said that the firies had told her that they had not seen any injured wildlife so far.
