Life of a Hedge
Back in 2014 I decided that we should plant a hedge. We were trying to smarten up the garden a bit and as we had no fence at the front of the property, I thought a hedge would provide privacy and something more attractive to look at. I discussed it with our “garden guys” who sourced the plants for me and did all the work of planting it and in succeeding years keeping it nice. I chose Photinia because I had noticed that it grew quite well in our area. I’d seen it in other gardens. I liked the attractive colour of the leaves.
The hedge grew quite well. We lost a couple of plants, one seemed to have been nibbled on by wildlife, another just died. I suspect it was taken out by the postie as it was very close to the mail box. However, most of the plants thrived. Every year, in the spring, I would take a new photo of the growing hedge from roughly the same position. I took the last one around the time that the house was sold.
I was very fond of that hedge. I hope the new people are looking after it.

That is a lovely hedge! I can see why you chose it.
