Those old Mercedes were great. The new ones look just like everything else on the road, but a lot more expensive. Love the tram. We have them in Brookline — and we used to have them here before they tore them out in the 1950s. But ours are only one deck high.

We don’t have trams in Tasmania now. Like most Australian cities they got rid of them in the 50s and 60s. Only Melbourne had the brains to keep theirs and one line in Adelaide. It’s interesting to see that light rail has really made a comeback in recent years. I agree about the Mercedes. Most modern cars are so similar that you can barely pick what make they are. I read an article by a designer once who said it was because most modern cars are designed by computer programs not people..
