Photographing Public Art #15

Dogs (and a couple of cats)

This week I thought I’d make my photos all about dogs as it turns out I have quite a few photos of dog statues in my archives.

This group of sculptures in Tauranga, New Zealand are based on the “Hairy MacLary” books by Lynley Dodd. The little scruffy chap is Hairy MacLary from Donaldson’s Dairy and the other dogs are his friends.

The Dog On The Tuckerbox is an iconic Australian tourist attraction in Gundagai NSW. We saw him when we drove to Canberra in 2007. You can read his story here.
