QUESTIONS

  1. If you could be anywhere else right now, where would it be?

There is no place I’d rather be than Tasmania right now.

What Wastes The Most Time In Your Day To Day Life?

I am a master procrastinator but I’d say that I waste more of my time on the computer than anywhere else.

How would you describe your greatest enemy?  If you don’t have one, share your secret!

I honestly can’t say if I have a greatest enemy. There are people who are no longer in my life because I didn’t want them to be and I’m sure that there are people who don’t like me but I don’t have a nemesis. I don’t have a secret. I just try to avoid conflict.

If you were a bird, what kind of bird would you be?

I love watching the wild birds but I’ve never thought about actually being a bird. The pretty ones are nearly always the males. Take the Fairy Wren, the male has beautiful blue and ,white and black feathers but the females are a drab brown. If I was a bird maybe I’d rather be a seagull or a pigeon. People call them vermin but those birds are very adaptable and have learned how to live in our world better than many others.

GRATITUDE SECTION (As Always, Optional)

Taswegian1957

I was born in England in 1957 and lived there until our family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. In 2015 David became ill and passed away in October of that year. I currently co-write two blogs on WordPress.com with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania. In November 2019 I began a new life in the house that Naomi and I intend to make our retirement home at Sisters Beach in Tasmania's northwest. My current housemates are Cindy, my 14-year-old Staffy-Lab X dog and Polly the world's most unsociable cat who is seven.

  1. Thank you Vanda for Sharing Your World! What an amazing meme! It brought a bit of mist to my eyes. It’s so very true too. How lovely! I like your choice of bird. It’s true the seagull and the pigeon aren’t greatly respected nor admired, but they are survivors! Beautiful images, and most of the gulls I see here (there’s a big body of water and a bird sanctuary west of where I live) seem angry! The expression on that gull’s face was priceless! You live in a beautiful part of the world and I’d want to just stay home there too if I were a citizen! 🙂 Have a wonderful week!

    • Gulls often look angry. In a way they are a bit like people, two gulls argueing over a chip while a third one makes off with it. Naomi took the photo, it’s a good one. The kitten is Polly the day we got her. I found her outside a church I was cleaning on a very hot day. I don’t know if she would have survived long if I hadn’t come along that day.
