Do you believe in second chances?
Do I believe that they happen? Sometimes. If you are lucky you may get another chance to do something you missed out on doing. You may get a chance to fix past mistakes or at least not make the same one again. You be able to reconnect with people you have lost. But it is not a given so it’s better to get it right the first time.
If you mean do I think people should get second chances then yes I do. Nobody’s perfect and unless we’re talking about mass murderers and psychopaths a second chance seems fair. Of course every case depends on the circumstances.
Is your glass half full or half empty?
I’ve always been a glass half full type of person. I try to look for what is good, not what is bad.
Would you rather someone be honest and hurt your feelings or lie to protect them?
If I’m being honest I’d rather not hear criticism and negative comments but sometimes you have to just take it.
When have you felt your biggest adrenaline rush?
I always get stuck with these questions that ask you to compare different events. I don’t have that kind of mind that I sit and think “Gee that was the most exciting thing that ever happened to me.” I reach into the grab bag of my memory and try to come up with something meaningful.
One thing that comes to mind which is not super exciting or scary is the times that we used to go on steam train trips around country South Australia. Naomi and I started going as teenagers and we’d get to the station early and wait on the platform until the locomotive arrived from the nearby depot. When we first spotted the smoke in the distance or heard the whistle we would run up the platform to watch it couple up to the carriages. If you knew me well you’ d know that practically nothing makes me run, but the excitement of those days always did.
What are you grateful for?
Today, the first day for over two weeks it hasn’t rained. We were able to take a walk to the beach.
