QUESTIONS
What’s the worst commercial you’ve recently seen (or heard)? Why was it so bad?
I rarely watch live free to air television any more so this is a tricky one. We were chatting just last night about funny commercials that we have enjoyed in the past and how the ones we see now are rarely as much fun. In fact I have to say that sometimes I am not actually sure what product is being advertised in some of them until the end. You did not have to guess what the commercial was meant to be about in the past. Repetition always makes an annoying commercial worse so in summer time when I would watch cricket on TV I’d see the same ads over and over week in week out. Which ones annoyed me the most. Station promos for upcoming reality TV series would be the main offenders. I would never watch things like “I’m a celebrity. Get me out of here.” anyway so having to see endless promos was really irritating. Another ad that really used to make me mad was a public service announcement about safety where a young girl was lecturing her parents, grandma and other adults about electrical safety. The subject matter was important but the girl’s bossy, disrespectful tone and attitude towards her elders irritated me so much that every time it came on I wanted to slap her. (Not condoning corporal punishment here but you know what I mean.)
What takes a lot of time but is totally worth it?
I guess a lot of people might say building or renovating your home and garden. A lot of aggravation but totally worth it when it is done the way you like.
Have you ever smiled at a stranger and then wished you hadn’t? Why or why not?
This is another question not designed for people like me who don’t remember every little thing that ever happened to them. I probably have done that at some time in my life and then felt embarrassed by their response, or lack of it but I can’t recall a particular circumstance. Sorry.
What do you think is the nastiest tasting food? (This one might be a recycled question. It’s familiar to me anyhow)
The nastiest tasting food, I assume you don’t mean nasty because of the way it was cooked or because it was off. No question it would have to be Vegemite!

GRATITUDE SECTION (as always, optional)
Are you at peace with yourself? Your world? Please share, whether you said “yay” or “nay”!
Yes I am. I’ve lived a mostly good life. I’ve made bad decisions and mistakes the same as anyone but I’m happy with who I am and where I am in my life.
Thanks, Vanda for Sharing Your World! Your pergola looks AMAZING! That must be so satisfying to sit in and watch the world go by! How lovely! I’ve heard a lot of stuff about Vegemite (obviously here we don’t have anything like it that I know of). I’ve heard that one either loves the stuff or hates it, there’s rarely in-between! No worries about the smiling question, some folks have strong memories around that kind of thing (strong NEGATIVE memories in the main), so I would presume it means you haven’t experienced those. That’s great, actually! I think you do have a beautiful life (from the photos and experiences you’ve shared). How wonderful! Have a fabulous week!

The pergola was built at my old house in Geeveston and I did love sitting in it with a coffee listening to the birds and admiring the garden once it was tidied up. Unfortunately I had neighbours who could not do anything outside without a lot of loud, angry swearing or they would play terrible music so sometimes I had to go back indoors.

I love your pergola. I didn’t know that’s what they were called. I always wanted a gazebo, but instead, I had a teepee. That was my special place.
I tried vegemite once and it was really icky. I totally don’t understand why anyone LIKES it. Maybe you have to have a special taste bud for it?

I think maybe you have to be Australian by birth. David loved the stuff. I couldn’t even bear the smell of it. The pergola was wonderful and I do miss my garden in Geeveston sometimes.
