Questions

What will finally break the Internet?  Do you believe it can be broken at all?

I’ve read about a few hacking attempts in the past that have brought down the internet in its early days. I also know that a country can shut its internet service down so I guess some kind of massive virus or hostile takeover of servers would do it.

What are some ‘red flags’ to watch out for in daily life?  (take it as you want)

My “red flags” are toxic threads on social media. I don’t comment on them and I try to avoid even reading them if I see they are going to go that way.

What’s the silliest thing someone has argued with you about?

You know I can never answer this type of question. If it was that silly it is unlikely that I would remember the argument.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve found lying on the ground / side of the road?

I used to think finding dead wildlife on the side of the road was strange but sadly it is all too common.

Gratitude:

My new computer arrived and it was small enough for me to carry home from the shop by myself. I was also able to move my desk upstairs by myself

My new computer.

The sun is shining.

I was born in England in 1957 and lived there until our family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband, David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. In 2015 David became ill and passed away in October of that year. I currently co-write two blogs on WordPress.com with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania. In November 2019 I began a new life in the house that Naomi and I intend to make our retirement home at Sisters Beach in Tasmania's northwest. Currently we have five pets between us. Naomi's two dogs Toby and Teddy and cats, Tigerwoods and Panther and my cat Polly. My dog Cindy passed away aged 16 in April 2022.

  1. Thanks Vanda for Sharing Your World! A new computer and some lovely sunshine are indeed things to be grateful for! I’m glad you were able to situate your desk and computer to your liking too! 🙂 Hackers are indeed red flags (as well as possible sources for internet interruptions) and I have to wonder if those sorts of persons have any conscience at all!! Have a wonderful week! 🙂
