When I moved I .was sad to leave my houseplants behind. There was just no room to fit them in the car so I left them with a friend. However, I inherited a plant that was left here by the previous occupiers of the house.
I naturally looked it up to see what it was as I’m not that familiar with succulents and found it was called a Zygocactus. I also learned that this plant is also known as a Christmas Cactus. A couple of my blogging friends have these and they flower in December. Mine didn’t of course, but it looked healthy enough so I sat it on a sunny shelf, watered it regularly but not too much and waited.
Yesterday I noticed that it had bloomed for the first time. In Australia they bloom in June , which is winter for us of course. And that I guess is why we never call them Christmas Cactus.
