Street Art
I’d just like to say a quick word about graffiti. I know that many people regard it as art and some of the people who do it are certainly very talented. I enjoy street art. However, tagging, writing and drawing obscenities on buildings or on public transport is NOT art. I never use the term graffiti artists because I spent quite a lot of my time working in the railways cleaning graffiti from the city’s trains. You can’t imagine how depressing it was to see a set of railcars completely covered in graffiti. We had to put on protective gear and use nasty chemicals to clean it off or run it through a special wash which never got all the paint off so we’d have to finish the job by hand usually. People who do that kind of thing are just inconsiderate and selfish.
Anyway having said that on to some colourful street art.

We really have just one piece of street art and it’s a mosaic from the late 1800s. We are an art-free community.

I like the one with the mountains in the background of the 2 sitting on the bench. Well done murals help a neighborhood not hurt it.

I liked that too. It is in Picton, New Zealand and I thought it very realistic.
