Music to my ears

My first nomination, the sounds of the sea. Here at Sisters Beach we only have to step outside to hear the sea. It is so quiet here. You can hear it best at night but even during the day as there is little traffic it’s easy to hear it.

Bagpipes, some people love them. Some people hate them. You can’t ignore them. Many would say the same about brass bands.

Who still has their vinyl albums?

Birds. All the birds that I have photos of tend to be shriekers not singers like the plovers, cockatoos and rosellas. I hear and often see kookaburra’s, wrens and robins but haven’t managed to photograph any so here is a stylised blue wren.

The sound of a steam engine is a very special sound for me. The whistle, the sound of the engine working, the clickety clack of wheels on rails and the occasional slip in damp weather are all part of the steam experience.
