Questions:
Do guns protect people or kill people? Or both?
As far as I am concerned the only people who should have guns are the police, military and people who use them for legitimate sports like target shooting, and hunting, for food not for fun. I know that’s not exactly the question you were asking but I don’t believe in private citizens having guns to protect themselves. The idea that people keep guns in their handbags or in a drawer where any kid could get hold of it horrifies me.
Is it more important to be respected or liked?
I think it is more important to be respected but I guess most of us want to be liked as well.
Is having a big ego a negative or positive trait? (yeah I know. Duh. But there ought to be one “gimme’ in the pile)
Well having a big ego is definitely not an attractive trait. Nobody likes those people. Now I’m going to share the earworm that this question gave me. Skyhooks singing “Ego Is Not A Dirty Word”. I’ll include the lyrics in case you can’t see the video in your countries.
If I did not have an ego I would not be here tonight
If I did not have an ego I might not think that I was right
If you did not have an ego you might not care the way you dressed
If you did not have an ego you’d just be like the rest
Ego is not a dirty word Ego is not a dirty word Ego is not a dirty word Don’t you believe what you’ve seen or heard
If Jesus had an ego he’d still be alive today
And if Nixon had no ego he might not be in decay
If you did not have an ego you might not care too much who won
If I did not have an ego I might just use a gun
Ego is not a dirty word Ego is not a dirty word Ego is not a dirty word Don’t you believe what you’ve seen or heard
Some people keep their egos in a bottom drawer
A fridge full of Leonard Cohen
Have to get drunk just to walk out the door
Stay drunk to keep on goin’
So if you got an ego You better keep it in good shape Exercise it daily And get it down on tape

Depending on your point of view, is death a new beginning?
I think that in order to believe that death is a new beginning you would have to believe in some form of afterlife. I don’t know what happens when we die. I sure hope it isn’t reincarnation because I really don’t want to come back. Whenever I think about death I think of it as being an ending. I hope that I’ll see loved ones again when it happens the way people say but I hadn’t really thought about what happens after that.

Well I’ve had another week of staying quietly at home. Our lockdown in northwest Tasmania has been extended by another week. I’m fine though. This is a quiet place anyway.
I’ve been photographing dolls for our doll blog. I enjoy doing it and our readers enjoy seeing them so I feel I’m making them happy too. I have also been playing around with photo editing software to make some different backgrounds for the photos. I’m not perfect at it yet but it’s good fun.

Thanks for participating in Share Your World, Vanda! Fun video – thanks for the clip and an introduction to some new music! 😀 I think your doll project looks very interesting and you get to ‘stretch’ your skill set and talent a bit! Have fun! As to the gun question, you had the right idea.
