Blogging Insights #23

Today I’m playing along again with Dr Tanya’s Blogging Insights.

QUESTIONS

1.How has the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic affected your blogging Are you posting more or less than you used to?

I think that I am posting around the same amount as before. It is a little harder to do photo challenges without using my archives and I can’t post about outings and places of interest as I like to normally. However, I’m making a conscious effort to post in each blog on a regular basis. I look for other challenges I can participate in and I have started an “Armchair Travel” series of posts featuring photos from my archives of places I have been.

2.What is the tone of your posts these days, happy, sad , serious, worried?

Again, I’m trying to be positive and continue in the same vein as normal. Many people are posting about Covid-19 but I prefer not to unless I’m doing a blogging challenge that has referred to it. I would prefer that my posts be a distraction from the news not add to the general gloom and doom.

Spotted outside a Hobart pub. I had to share.

3.Have you written any posts specifically about the crisis and its effect on your life? If so, please share a link?

I wrote one in answer to a recent RDP but other than that not really. I am a lot better off than many people. I’m safe and well, I have enough to eat and my immediate needs are taken care off so what’s there to say. It is what it is.

4.What kinds of posts do you like to read these days?

The same as always, anything that makes me laugh, has nice photos or interesting content will always be a hit with me. I read a certain amount of opinion and informational blogs but I’ve always done that.

So it is!

Taswegian1957

I was born in England in 1957 and lived there until our family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband, David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. In 2015 David became ill and passed away in October of that year. I currently co-write two blogs on WordPress.com with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania. In November 2019 I began a new life in the house that Naomi and I intend to make our retirement home at Sisters Beach in Tasmania's northwest. Currently we have five pets between us. Naomi's two dogs Toby and Teddy and cats, Tigerwoods and Panther and my cat Polly. My dog Cindy passed away aged 16 in April 2022.
