Sharing My World This Week
I’m back for this week after skipping last week’s questions which were a bit too grim for me and more than I really wanted to share. Not that I have any deep dark feelings but if I did I would not write about them.
Can you bake a cake? (credit for this question goes to Di, who asked it on her post recently. Thanks Di! After last week’s SYW, we needed a little bit of sweet and light!)
I can. I quite enjoy baking. I don’t do fancy cakes usually. I like to make fruit cake (dark or light), Victoria sandwich(plain or chocolate), banana cake and that sort of thing. Naomi likes Red Velvet cake so I have made that once or twice and not from a packet either.

What’s one thing that can instantly make your day better?
A good laugh will always make my day better.Or chocolate.
When you were a kid, did you eat the crusts on your sandwich or not?
I did, in fact I loved the crusty bit at the end of the loaf. Still do.
What’s something your family would be surprised to learn about you?
I don’t think that I’m much of a mystery to my family. I don’t know that anything that I do would be a surprise to them.
AND (of course)
GRATITUDE IS AN ATTITUDE!
Please feel free to share some gratitude from this past week (or month or year). This is purely optional of course, but it does tend to uplift everyone (I happen to think) to read some happy and/or joyful thoughts or view some uplifting pictures. Thank you if you do so!
I’m grateful for the cheap but very nice Barbie dolls that Naomi spotted for sale at Don Market recently.

I’m grateful that we got to visit the Don River Railway again as it has been years since I was there.
I’m particularly grateful for the money that I won on the “pokies” last week. I don’t play the machines very often and I win even more rarely. I regard the amount I allow myself to spend as entertainment money so I’m happy if it lasts me a couple of hours. I didn’t win a lot but it paid for my lunch and most of the things I had to buy at the shops later.
It sounds like your trip and the winnings made last week a great week! Thanks Vanda for Sharing Your World. You should be proud that you can make a cake from scratch. I think personally it’s a dying art and I admire anyone who can! 😀

I know quite a few ladies in Geeveston who make and decorate cakes far better than me but I accept the compliment with pleasure.

I love that you won on the pokies. My late Australian aunt used to play the pokies quite frequently and often has good wins😁

I think the trick is not to get carried away and set yourself a limit then you can enjoy them as entertainment and winning is a bonus.
