QUESTIONS:
How can someone win a gold star (i.e. win your approval and/or admiration) with you?
I guess by being a kind and thoughtful person who tries to help others.
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
Probably more of what I do for fun now. More reading, more writing, more wasting time on the internet.
Do you have a favorite type of exercise?
I like walking, preferably with a dog or a camera but don’t call it exercise. That’s not why I do it.

Do you sleep with a top sheet? Why or why not?
Funnily enough Naomi and I were talking about this just this morning. We both prefer a top sheet because that is what we were brought up to use. We had sheets and blankets on our beds until doonas became popular so the top sheet was needed. I know a lot of people think that they are a nuisance and complain that they get tangled in them but to me it seems a lot easier to wash a sheet than to wash a doona. Think of all the sweat, dead skin etc that comes off us in bed. It just seems a bit unhygenic not to use one to me. It is also useful if you have a doona thieving bed companion as you can tuck it in and prevent it from being dragged off you.

Gratitude
I have two gratitude stories this week. One is from last week when I went to get my hair cut in Burnie. I randomly picked a hairdresser and was lucky enough to have delightful conversation about cats with the hairdresser. She told me how she had recently rescued a kitten from someone who had got it for their child (a 3 year old) but then didn’t want it. This woman just let the kitten go hoping it would run away. I really liked how angry this young hairdresser was about that.
My second gratitude post is more mundane, Naomi and I went down to Burnie today to look around the shops. We ended up buying a few things in K Mart for some really good prices. Neither of us had been in K Mart for ages and we were surprised and pleased that we found so many things we liked in there. In fact we’re planning a trip back next week to get a few things for the house and ourselves. First time we’ve enjoyed shopping in ages.
We also had another very enjoyable visit to Penguin Market and a walk with Toby and Teddy who came with us.
Thanks Vanda for Sharing Your World! That walk (my own favorite ‘exercise’ – even though that might not be the purpose of the walk) by the river looks amazing! I’m glad your shopping adventure turned out so well. It’s interesting that they still have K Marts in your part of the world. The last one in Utah here closed its doors in the early 2000s. Most big box stores (which K Mart was an early version of) have closed down. Wal*Mart has a lot to answer for in that regard I think!

We don’t have Walmart here but even so the chain stores, Target, Big W and K Mart are struggling.
