Today’s Treasure
Well today I decided to visit the Bargain Centre here in Oatlands again as my neighbour told me there was some good stuff there. I thought “Ripper” and went to have a look after work this morning. There was a lot of cool stuff there and I had to stop myself from buying too many things since it’s all stuff I’ll eventually have to pack and move to the new house at Sisters Beach. Where will it all go? I ended up with three items and here they are.
The plate is English and made by British Anchor Staffordshire. It reminded me of Vanda’s dinner set given to her by our mum. I got this plate for fifty cents. The swans were made in Japan. I am not sure if this is working or not but I think it still displays very well and goes nicely with my other vintage swan ornament. I used to have a lovely lustreware swan vase. It was very pretty with little flowers set around the bottom of it. My dog accidently broke it when he jumped up on the table to look out the window for me. His claws became caught in the lacey tablecloth. My own fault I know as I should have turfed him out of the lounge room. So this one caught my eye and I picked it up for twelve dollars. Last of all are the vintage marbles. I have collected marbles for years. I have loved them since I was a child so always on the lookout for some very old ones. They don’t have to be perfect. I have a few that are quite dinged up. There were some very attractive ones in this lot and I got them for Ten bucks. So there are my buys for today.
I’ll have to get the tea set out and see if it is the same make. It looks very similar. Nice swans and some more very important marbles.

Nice items. We don’t get much well-kept materials in ours. They tend to treat everything as almost trash.
