Share Your World 2019: 25 November

Sharing My World This Week

General questions this week.  It’s Thanksgiving and then that horrid ‘Black Friday” in the U.S.A. and so lots of folks will be ultra busy.  I thought some general questions that are relatively easy to answer might be in order.

What did you have for dinner last night?

Last night (Monday) we had chicken drumsticks which I cooked in my air fryer, pasta salad, potato salad, cherry tomatoes, beetroot and cheese followed by choc mint ice cream cones for dessert

Would you rather go out on a Saturday night or stay in?

Honestly, I never cared much about going out on a Saturday night even when I was young unless there was something good on that I wanted to see like a concert or a play or a good movie. It’s cheaper to go to the movies on a weeknight anyway. I still feel the same now. I’m not a party person and am happy to be at home with my pets and my hobbies.

How are you, truthfully?

I’m good I think. I have everything I need, although more money would be nice. I have a secure home and I am equally happy being alone or with people.

What’s the best topping/ice cream combination?  If you don’t eat ice cream, what’s your favourite combination dessert?  (Example: pie and ice cream or pie and whipped cream – that sort of answer)

Well although I agree with Naomi that New Zealand ice cream is probably the best I’ve ever had my favourite ice cream combination would be Tasmanian made Valhalla ice cream in a cone with fresh berries (raspberries, blueberries or strawberries) and topped with whipped cream.

Valhalla ice cream.

I was born in England in 1957 and lived there until our family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband, David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. In 2015 David became ill and passed away in October of that year. I currently co-write two blogs on with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania. In November 2019 I began a new life in the house that Naomi and I intend to make our retirement home at Sisters Beach in Tasmania's northwest. Currently we have five pets between us. Naomi's two dogs Toby and Teddy and cats, Tigerwoods and Panther and my cat Polly. My dog Cindy passed away aged 16 in April 2022.
