Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: Anything with Numbers on it.

Numbers in Sport

For this challenge, I thought it would be interesting to use numbers that relate to sport. I’ll start with cricket. Here are two former Australian cricketers wearing their One Day International uniforms. I used an orange filter for 33 and a red one for 23 just to see the differences. Below is a typical cricket scoreboard.

I have a huge archive of photos of racing yachts, here are a couple that I took last year.

Most of my motor racing photos are still either slides or prints waiting to be transferred to the computer but here are a couple. Perhaps the most famous number in Australian motorsport history, Peter Brock’s 05 and his teammate that year Wayne Gardener, both taken at the Adelaide Grand Prix circuit. The last one is a Formula 1 car, a Brabham, from the late 1980s or early 90s. It has road tyres on as it had been taking part in a demonstration run before being displayed at a suburban shopping centre.

Born in England in 1957 my family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. David passed away in 2015 and I'm here on my own now but I have Cindy the dog and Polly the cat to keep me company. I currently co-write two Wordpress blogs with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania.
