Well, it happened, I finally sold my house. It was quite a saga and I’ll write more about it soon but for now, I just wanted to say that it’s done.
Consequently, that means I will be moving in the near future, in just over three weeks in fact. We’ve found a house we like and are going to see it next week. I’ve already made an offer on it in fact.
The business with the house is part of the reason I have not been writing a lot lately although it’s not entirely to blame. I will be blaming my future lack of attention on the move though as there will be a lot to do and for the most part only me to do it although I will get help when I need it.
When moving time comes I’ll try to schedule a few posts ahead for all the blogs as I will likely be offline for a short period but I can’t promise as three weeks is not very long to plan a move across the state.
Born in England in 1957 my family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008.
We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. David passed away in 2015 and I'm here on my own now but I have Cindy the dog and Polly the cat to keep me company.
I currently co-write two Wordpress blogs with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania.

I hope you will enjoy the new home. You probably have quite a bit of work in front of you now. I am going to read your future stories. I wish you good luck and happiness in the new home!
I’ll still be here, I promise! Do you have a mover? Are you taking all your stuff or getting rid of some of it? I don’t want to move, but I get all excited about it anyway. I’ve moved 14 times since 1987 and when we landed here, I said “They will bury me here. I’m never moving again!”👍
That’s what we said when we moved here but life had other ideas. I will be getting a removalist. I have one coming to quote tomorrow. This weekend I’ll be going in the shed and separating things that need to go to the dump and things that need to go to the Op Shop but the vast majority will be coming along with me. Three weeks of sorting and packing to go.
Good luck, Vanda. A very stressful and busy time ahead for you. We look forward to your hearing about your adventures and to photos of your new house and surrounds. Good luck.
