 Share the creepiest thing that’s ever happened while you were alone.

I can’t think of one so I guess nothing really creepy ever happened to me when I was alone.

One night when I was staying at Naomi’s place years ago we sat up very late and as we were getting ready for bed at around two or three in the morning we heard a strange voice coming from another room. “Ghosts?” we asked each other, but the pets were not reacting and it stopped so we went to bed. Then it happened again another night and this time we found the culprit. Naomi’s computer going through its antivirus routine.

 What would you like your last words to be?

I am tempted to say “So long and thanks for all the fish.” but actually I was hoping to die in my sleep.

 Do you believe in any ‘mythical’ monsters like chupacabras or shadow people?

I keep an open mind. I want there to be a Loch Ness Monster but I hope we never find her.

 How long do you think you would last in a horror movie?

Not long, however, that’s a good thing. I wouldn’t have to see all the other scary stuff happen before it was my turn.

 Are you afraid of or find clowns creepy?

Neither, I’ve never understood this “creepy clown” thing.

 In the zombie apocalypse, what would be your weapon of choice?

Nope. I don’t have an answer for that one because I don’t see myself going around killing Zombies.

 Have you ever had your tarot cards read?

No, but I would like to.

 Anyone know the reason behind putting candles in jack-o-lanterns?

No. enlighten me.

Do you think putting special emphasis on certain holidays – like Halloween is ‘spooky’ for example — is a good idea or just more mindless entertainment for the masses? 

Halloween is not really a thing in Australia. In recent years retail outlets particularly have tried to push it but it’s not the ritual it is to American children. I was talking to some mother’s yesterday and they said they would be afraid to let their kids go trick or treating in case they were given sweets laced with drugs.  

I do think that like other holidays, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and even Easter and Christmas it has become commercialised but I’m not saying people should not celebrate them if they want to. I love Christmas because I enjoy the traditions and gift giving. I just object to Christmas stuff being in the shops as early as August or Hot Cross buns on Boxing Day. Halloween is a bit of fun and I don’t think there is anything wrong with a night of spooky stories and special food.

 

 Share a positive thought or message or something that’s inspired you this week.

Today, 30 October, would have been my wedding anniversary. I guess my positive message this week is that life goes on and mostly it’s good.  You learn to cope with things.
