Share Your World 2018: 17 September

Sharing My World This Week

What Is Your Favorite Beverage?  (for those who really dislike “favorite” questions, hey, time to time, one just pops in and will not be denied).

It depends on the time and place. I’d have to say that I drink tea and coffee more than anything else. I don’t drink a lot of carbonated soft drinks as I find that more than a glass at a time just makes me feel gassy.  I do like a glass of wine sometimes though I am no wine buff or a some of our locally made apple or pear cider.

What Is Your Interpretation of ‘The Golden Rule”?  Are there ramifications to breaking it?

Don’t do anything to other people that you would not like done to you. It’s so simple I don’t know why so many have such trouble with it. If you break it I think that it will come back to bite you.

Sunrise person or sunset person?

I like both although these days I’m not often up to see a sunrise. I love the colour the sky turns just before the sun rises and the colours of clouds in the evening.

Do people in modern society anthropomorphize animals too much?

Yes I suppose we do but it is not a new thing and mostly harmless I think. If it makes us treat animals more kindly it is probably  a good thing.

What Were You Grateful For During the Past Week?

I was out and about a bit last week, one place I went I had a nice conversation with a lady I’ve known for a long time but never had a long chat with, I had lunch with some other friends and met some new people who seemed very nice. I went to Hobart and finally got my hair cut which was great as it had been driving me crazy. I ran into Naomi who was also in town, we hadn’t planned it but naturally we both went to Target’s toy aisle so we ended up having lunch and then we visited a gift shop I’d heard about where I bought  a  tin suitcase to use as a doll prop and had a nice chat with the lady in the shop. She had a very cute toy poodle who made us laugh too.

Taswegian1957

I was born in England in 1957 and lived there until our family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. In 2015 David became ill and passed away in October of that year. I currently co-write two blogs on WordPress.com with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania. In November 2019 I began a new life in the house that Naomi and I intend to make our retirement home at Sisters Beach in Tasmania's northwest. My current housemates are Cindy, my 14-year-old Staffy-Lab X dog and Polly the world's most unsociable cat who is seven.
