Snapshot Sunday

GE DIGITAL CAMERA This is Table Mountain seen from the Parattah walking trail. I am headed home after a very long walk with the dogs. It’s not a great photo or anything but it gives you an idea of how high it is. Table Mountain is apparently 3592 feet high. That’s according to what I found out online if it’s correct. I’ve never driven out there but there are conservation parks and stuff. Being a townie I’m not really into getting in touch with nature and my inner self. The warmer weather is coming and so are the snakes so I will be getting back to the pavement pretty soon and will be going no where near the walking trails. Tiger snakes and Copperheads are pretty nasty. A snake crossed my path when I was walking Toby once and it was pretty scary walking the rest of the way back to the car. Luckily Toby did not go for it. He was as surprised as I was when it went slithering into the grass. We will content ourselves with the area near the duck pond, Callington Park and the High Street. In fact we enjoy walking evenings in Summer when everyone else has gone home for tea. The evenings are peaceful and quiet and the High Street so empty you could fire a cannon down it and you would not hit a thing.

I came to Australia with my mother and sister Vanda in 1966 from the UK aboard the Sitmar liner Castel Felice. We settled in South Australia I lived in the western suburbs of Adelaide for most of my life. I became very interested in retro items in my twenties. It was always a dream of mine to have an old house and fill it with retro items. I have done it twice now. My main interest is collecting old things. They do not have to be valuable, only interesting. There is something reassuring about old retro items. I have all sorts of things including doll related items. My other interests are my beautiful pets, art and going for drives to who knows where. I also enjoy board games or doing a scenic jig saw puzzle on a wintry afternoon by the fire. My goal is to travel a bit more as there are some places I would love to see
