Cee’s Oddball Photo Challenge: 16 July

Yarn Bombing

Geeveston Oddballs

I had a great walk around Geeveston last Tuesday. It was a cold but sunny winter’s day and after my expedition to the Rosehaven set I thought it was a good time to visit some other locations around town where I might get some good photos.

The Op Shop is in the grounds of the Geeveston Primary School and but usually I’m too busy to wander around the school ground and I don’t like taking my good camera to the shop in case it gets lost, broken or accidentally sold. I had been told there were some interesting features in the school’s garden though so I decided to go and have a look as it was holiday time and nobody was around. The first three photos were taken at the school.

The last photo was taken outside Makers on Church Street of a bicycle which has been yarn bombed.

Born in England in 1957 my family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. David passed away in 2015 and I'm here on my own now but I have Cindy the dog and Polly the cat to keep me company. I currently co-write two Wordpress blogswith my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and a "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania.

  1. There was a bike decorated in yarn and several other objects last year. I don’t know what happened to them though. I thought it was another one of these craft crazes. wonder what it will be next?
