Share Your World 2017 – Week #6

Sharing My World This Week

I can’t believe I wrote this post on Wednesday and forgot to post it.

Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?

I prefer the bed sheets tucked in because it looks neater but also because it was harder for David to steal them that way. I’m not a restless sleeper as a rule so apart from where I get in the bed remains tucked in. I wish I could figure out a way to tuck myself in.

Have you stolen a street sign before?

No, I’ve never done that but when we were young David and I did liberate a few items from  trains and abandoned railway lines. We knew people who were way worse than us though.

Do you cut out coupons but then never use them?

I used to save shopper dockets for petrol but often they did not get used because we didn’t think it was worth making a special trip to go to that particular service station if it was out of our way or the discounted petrol was the same price as that of the non-discounted competition.

Do you have freckles?

I have a few here and there on my arms mostly but I’m not covered in them.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m grateful that my house is starting to look better as the painter prepares the surface for the top coats. I’m grateful for an enjoyable day at the Wooden Boat Festival where I took a lot of photographs.

This week I’m looking forward to getting a few more chores done. The vet will visit tomorrow to vaccinate Cindy and Polly if I can drag her out of her hidey hole, later in the week the handyman will start repairing windows and the “Fly Man” will come to do the annual spray for creepy crawlies. Over the weekend I’ll catch up with friends for lunch which we hope we’ll be able to have picnic style if the weather improves.

Born in England in 1957 my family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. David passed away in 2015 and I'm here on my own now but I have Cindy the dog and Polly the cat to keep me company. I currently co-write two Wordpress blogswith my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and a "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania.
