Sharing My World This Week

Would you prefer to receive a unicycle, bicycle, tricycle or motorcycle?

As I would certainly overbalance on one or two wheels my answer has to be a tricycle. You certainly wouldn’t  get me on any of these vintage ones.

What is one thing you’d like to accomplish this year?

One thing that I would like to do is to grow this blog this year. I didn’t post as often last year as the previous one and sometimes I struggled to find things to write about as I was not getting about much.

What was one of the highlights of 2016 for you?

Without question our cruise to New Zealand was the highlight of the year. If I had to pick just one highlight from that holiday I think it would be a toss up between visiting the art deco city of Napier or the magic Sunday we spent in Wellington.

Would you prefer to fly a kite or fly in a hot air balloon?

When I was younger I always wanted to fly in a hot air balloon. I still would even though I’m worried about vertigo and bumpy landings.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Naomi and I celebrated New Year’s Eve together for the first time in many years. We didn’t go out partying or drinking, we sat up all night watching music DVD’s but normally we don’t see each other at all on New Year’s Eve so it was fun to have someone to sit up with.

This week is going to be a busy one as the Op Shop re-opens. We may have a lot of customers, we will certainly have a lot of donations to sort out and we want to reorganise the display shelves so that will keep us out of mishchief.

Born in England in 1957 my family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. David passed away in 2015 and I'm here on my own now but I have Cindy the dog and Polly the cat to keep me company. I currently co-write two Wordpress blogswith my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and a "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania.
