Share Your World – 2016 – Week # 49

Sharing My World This Week

What do you value most in a friendship?

Feeling so comfortable that I can be myself and not feel I have to apologise for my habits or beliefs.

Do you prefer eating the frosting of the cake or the cupcake first?  Do you prefer a specific flavor?

I have to admit to liking the frosting but I don’t eat all of it first. I like to save some for the end as well. I don’t really have a favourite flavour.

Have you ever been in a submarine?  If you haven’t, would you want to?

I have been on guided tours of submarines and found them difficult to manage because of all the ladders. Given the opportunity I would not choose to go on another.

If 100 people your age were chosen at random, how many do you think you’d find leading a more satisfying life than yours?

Probably quite a few, but life is so random at times that I wouldn’t like to suggest a percentage. Sometimes you feel on top of the world and that nobody could be happier than you and at other times you feel exactly the opposite and I am sure that is the same for all of us.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Last week was a quiet one for me. I haven’t been to Hobart lately. I can’t seem to get motivated to go. I spent it doing the usual things, working at the Op Shop, blogging, watching Netflix in the evening. I enjoyed watching an exciting cricket match on TV on Sunday night which Australia won and I made two Christmas Puddings.

Later this week we have the Geeveston Christmas Parade. The Op Shop is putting in a float so I’ll be staying late at the shop and will try to take some photos.

Taswegian1957

I was born in England in 1957 and lived there until our family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband, David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. In 2015 David became ill and passed away in October of that year. I currently co-write two blogs on WordPress.com with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania. In November 2019 I began a new life in the house that Naomi and I intend to make our retirement home at Sisters Beach in Tasmania's northwest. Currently we have five pets between us. Naomi's two dogs Toby and Teddy and cats, Tigerwoods and Panther and my cat Polly. My dog Cindy passed away aged 16 in April 2022.
