Share Your World – 2016 -Week #43

Sharing My World This Week

What are you really glad you did yesterday?

Yesterday was the first really dry day we’d had for a while and when I got home from the Op Shop Cindy brought me a tennis ball. I had played with her for a few minutes before going out in the morning but I was happy to do it again without worrying about keeping my ride waiting.  I’m glad I did that as Cindy spends so much time on her own these days with me out for most of the day three days a week. She was used to one or the other of us being home most of the time before we lost David and she misses that as she is a very sociable dog.

Would you prefer a one floor house or multiple levels?

Now that I am getting older I think I really prefer a one floor house which is  less of a challenge for an ageing body . When I was younger I thought a two storey house with an attic and a dormer window or a room with a balcony would be fun. I still think they are very attractive homes but maybe I’d lose my enthusiasm after climbing up and down stairs every day.

Have you done something you truly want to do today?

I have done two things I wanted to do today, both practical things not life long wishes. I changed my internet and phone plan to save some money and I bought a new bed. That is something I’ve wanted to do for some time as I don’t feel happy sleeping in a great big king size bed even with Cindy for company and folding king sized sheets on your own is no fun.

What plans did you have as a teenager that didn’t happen? Are you happy it didn’t work out that way?

When I was a teenager I planned to travel a lot. I was going to start with a trip to New Zealand  and then I was going to save to go to the UK. I hoped that I would eventually visit every continent. Then I met David.

I did still go to the UK before we got married but I didn’t go to New Zealand until my recent trip there on the cruise. I do regret a little that I haven’t been to more places in my life but that was more caused by lack of money than by getting married. I am glad that David and I got to go overseas and have great experiences together and that I could show him where I came from in England.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Last week was nothing out of the ordinary however I am grateful that it has not rained for two whole days! I’m looking forward to my visit to Adelaide to see David’s family later in the week. It will be nice to catch up.
