Share Your World – 2016 – Week #38

Sharing My World This Week

Are you a hugger or a non-hugger?

Most definitely a non-hugger. Fortunately my sister is the same. It takes extreme circumstances for us to even hug each other.  I don’t mind hugging family and close friends but I dislike being hugged by people I don’t know well as it feels like an invasion of my space.

What is your least favourite Candy?

I think it would be a toss-up between liquorice which I find revolting and sour candies which to me seem a contradiction in terms (we usually call candy “sweets”).

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “fun”?

Road Trip! Or any kind of  holiday trip or outing really.

On a road trip with Ally and Matt.

List of Favourite Smells: What smells do you love? Whether its vanilla scented candles or the smell of coffee in the morning or the smell of a fresh spring rain…make a list of all the things you love for a little aromatherapy.

  • Freshly brewed coffee
  • Toast
  • Freshly mowed grass
  • Lavender
  • Country air
  • Wet streets after rain
  • Smoke from a steam engine
  • Sausages on a barbecue
  • Christmas fruit cake baking in the oven
  • The aromas at “The Body Shop”

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

In this past week I’ve managed to get a bit of de-cluttering done with items that I needed to move on being rehomed. However, I was given some more dolls so the clean up has been a little compromised.

I also got to be with my friend Ally while she bought her first brand new car which was quite exciting. I’m looking forward to seeing it this weekend after she collects it.

I have nothing special planned for the rest of the week just chores, the Op Shop and cleaning dolls.

Taswegian1957

I was born in England in 1957 and lived there until our family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. In 2015 David became ill and passed away in October of that year. I currently co-write two blogs on WordPress.com with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania. In November 2019 I began a new life in the house that Naomi and I intend to make our retirement home at Sisters Beach in Tasmania's northwest. My current housemates are Cindy, my 14-year-old Staffy-Lab X dog and Polly the world's most unsociable cat who is seven.

    • Thank you. I thought of so many food smells I thought I might sound like it was all I thought about but eating would not be nearly as pleasurable without a sense of smell.
