What is your earliest memory?
The earliest memory that I can be sure is mine is of looking down from a bridge and seeing trains going by. I would have been two years old. When I was a bit older and visited that bridge again I could not understand why I could not see over it. I knew I had seen trains there before. Mum explained that my grandfather used to hold me up to see them. Is it strange that I only remember the trains and not my grandfather holding me or anything else before I was four years old?
What was the last photo you took with your phone?
I rarely take pictures with my phone because it is not a smart phone. Recently I discovered a bad photo of David that I took to send to his sisters last year while he was in hospital. That would have been the last one.
Have you ever danced in the rain?
No, I don’t think so but I loved Gene Kelly doing it in “Singing in the Rain”.
What is the longest you have gone without sleep?
I can’t be sure but Naomi and I have had many marathon nights where we would sit up talking and suddenly discover that it was nearly morning. At least on a couple of occasions we’d see the sun come up, have some breakfast and go to bed.
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Last Saturday Naomi came to spend the day with me and we stopped off at a local hardware store to buy paint and a new stepladder, things that I have difficulty getting home on my own now there is nobody to drive to the shops. We collected a pile of old bricks that were lying around in my garden for her to take home and use in hers and enjoyed a couple of hours sorting out more vintage paper dolls.
This week is looking quiet. I had lunch with friends yesterday which I enjoyed and am keeping my fingers crossed that I will see snow later in the week as the forecast is for very cold with snow to low levels. Remember how cross I was to miss out last year when this happened.
