Which way does the toilet paper roll go? Over or under?
Well of course it has to go over. Otherwise it’s hard to fold the little paper triangle at the bottom. When I worked in hotels I had to do that and sometimes I still find myself doing it at home.
If you were a crayon, what colour would you be?
I’m never good at these “What would you be if you were a –insert name of inanimate object-? ” questions. Crayons, well I think I’d be a big, fat red crayon. If I’m going to be a crayon I may as well be one that people will notice. And anyway red is my favourite colour.
You are comfortable doing nothing? For long stretches of time?
Actually yes. I used to work for the government :). No, really I am. I am happy sometimes to sit and contemplate. As the weather has improved I sometimes sit on the bench near the backdoor and do nothing. I daydream, which I suppose is not really doing nothing but I’m content. Of course sometimes if it is enforced idleness because I am waiting for someone else to arrive or to do something before I can continue what I am doing that’s pretty annoying and not comfortable at all.
Rather: Would you accept $5,000 to shave your head or die it bright lime green and continue your normal activities while not explaining the reason for your haircut or color?
Shave my head? Absolutely not if I couldn’t explain why or even if I could. I would be afraid people would think I had cancer and feel sorry for me. I certainly wouldn’t do it for a fashion statement. I like my hair; even grey it’s worth more to me than $5,000.
Would I dye it green for $5,000? That is a bit more tempting. The not explaining thing would be hard though. People who know me know that I would not do something like that without a reason. A lot of cancer fundraisers do give people the option to dye their hair instead of shaving their head so again I’d be concerned that people would think that I was participating in one of those things when I was really doing it for personal gain. That would make me feel bad too.
On reflection I think I would pass altogether.
Last week was not exceptional and if I am grateful for anything it’s that nothing bad happened. This week the Jim’s Mowing guys will be coming to build the path from the back of the house to the bottom of the garden and I am looking forward to that because getting there over the uneven ground and wet grass has been an adventure to say the least. I’ve taken a couple of tumbles onto the grass although fortunately haven’t been hurt. The path will make it much easier for me and for Hubby and it will look really nice too. I’m also looking forward to going to the nursery to start picking out trees and shrubs to plant in the back garden once the path is in.
