Share Your World – 2015 -Week #8

Sharing My World This Week

Your favorite blog post that you have written? (add link)

I’ve had a lot of fun writing posts about places I’ve visited but I think that I’m actually going mention a post of mine which always seems to get a lot of traffic. It must be pretty popular with other people. It is called “Superstition-Unlucky Plants”. I wrote it last spring when I was admiring all the blossoms on the trees. It started me thinking about superstitions and I found a very interesting website on the subject which inspired me to write the post.

What do you feel is the most enjoyable way to spend $500? Why?

Five hundred dollars is not a fortune, it’s probably not going to do anything life changing for me but it would buy a nice weekend away  in one of my favourite parts of Tasmania. Maybe back to Strahan to travel on the West Coast Wilderness Railway and cruise on the Gordon River again. That never gets old for me.

If you could know the answer to any question, besides “What is the meaning of life?”, what would it be?

Well I know that the answer to “What is the meaning of life?” is 42 so that’s covered. I can’t think of any other one question that I have a burning desire to know the answer to. Perhaps “Why is youth wasted on the young?”

Where do you eat breakfast?

Usually I eat breakfast at the kitchen bench so I’m close to the kettle and the toaster. However, I have been known to carry my plate and mug to the computer so I can check my blogs and reply to comments or occasionally into the lounge to watch the weather channel on TV. One place I don’t usually eat it is at the table. My mother would be horrified :).

I was born in England in 1957 and lived there until our family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband, David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. In 2015 David became ill and passed away in October of that year. I currently co-write two blogs on with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania. In November 2019 I began a new life in the house that Naomi and I intend to make our retirement home at Sisters Beach in Tasmania's northwest. Currently we have five pets between us. Naomi's two dogs Toby and Teddy and cats, Tigerwoods and Panther and my cat Polly. My dog Cindy passed away aged 16 in April 2022.
