What is your favorite color?

Red roses, red buses, red telephone boxes, red Ferrari’s. My favourite colour has always been red. My favourite shade is the bright red of a London bus. It’s bright and cheerful. There is always at least one red item in my wardrobe.

In what do you find the simplest of joys?

I love to watch a pet having a dream, dogs take imaginary runs in the park, their paws working overtime. Cats dreaming of being tigers and working their whiskers as they track their prey.It is not only humans who have rich inner lives.

Would you prefer a reading nook or an art, craft, photography studio?

Can I have both please? The spare bedroom which I call my doll room is my crafty space. I make dolls clothes and do scrapbooking in there. It’s a bit impractical at times because I have to move dolls to get to the craft supplies and I’m constantly reorganising the space trying to make it work better. Lighting is an issue. I like natural light for doing craft but the dolls need to be out of the sunlight. I’d like a separate room for craft with space for my laptop, work table and sewing machine and an area that I could set up for doll photography. I’d probably try to sneak in an armchair and some bookshelves too for my doll and craft books. Still I can’t complain. This is more space than I had in our previous house and it’s nothing that a whole wall of shelving wouldn’t fix.

What is at least one of your favorite quotes?

I don’t actually have a favourite quote but here is one that I found that I like very much from this website.

“If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went.”
Will Rogers (actor, A Connecticut Yankee)

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m grateful to Glen our building guy who not only laid the new bathroom floor tiles but took the trouble to plane the bathroom door when he rehung it so that it doesn’t stick any more. He also brought dog treats for Cindy each day that he came. Oh, and Australia won at cricket.

This week is another quiet one but more cricket to look forward to on television.

I was born in England in 1957 and lived there until our family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. In 2015 David became ill and passed away in October of that year. I currently co-write two blogs on with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania. In November 2019 I began a new life in the house that Naomi and I intend to make our retirement home at Sisters Beach in Tasmania's northwest. My current housemates are Cindy, my 14-year-old Staffy-Lab X dog and Polly the world's most unsociable cat who is seven.
