Share Your World – 2014 – Week 26

Is your refrigerator, organized or a mess inside?

I like a clean tidy fridge and mostly it is. I like dairy foods on one shelf,  leftovers on another and so on. I will admit to being guilty of not cleaning out the fresh fruit and veg compartment as often as I should. Hubby of course thinks that as long as an item is in the fridge it’s fine and is likely to put leftover cat food next to the margarine.  I still haven’t managed to retrain him.

If you could be famous for one thing, what would it be?

I don’t want to be famous, not for anything. I like my anonymity. Who would want to be public property all the time? I’d rather be unknown than live in a gilded cage.

What one thing have you not done that you really want to do?

Just one thing? How to choose? I’d really like to travel on the Indian Pacific train from Sydney to Perth or vice versa. I’ve always wanted to do that.

Where do you eat breakfast?

I like to eat breakfast at our kitchen bench but sometimes there is so much of Hubby’s stuff on it, think books, laptop, stamp albums, that there is no room to put a plate so I take it into the smaller of our two lounge areas where there is a dining table.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Last week I got to see some gorgeous miniatures at the Dolls House and Miniature Show in Hobart. This week will be a quiet, stay at home sort of week but I’m looking forward to my chat nights with my sister and a close friend which we do online twice a week.

I was born in England in 1957 and lived there until our family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. In 2015 David became ill and passed away in October of that year. I currently co-write two blogs on with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania. In November 2019 I began a new life in the house that Naomi and I intend to make our retirement home at Sisters Beach in Tasmania's northwest. My current housemates are Cindy, my 14-year-old Staffy-Lab X dog and Polly the world's most unsociable cat who is seven.
